Turn South Presents at October 2018 CHRONIC
Turn South Project Director Rachel Fowler led a Human Rights Cities workshop at the Carolinas Human Rights Organizer Conference (CHRONIC) held October 19-20, 2018 in Columbia SC.
The workshop introduced the work of the National Human Rights Cities Alliance to promote Human Rights Cities across the United States, including in the Southern U.S. Participants discussed how promoting protection of human rights at the city and county level will improve the lives of community members facing discrimination, financial hardships and with limited or no access to healthcare and affordable housing, among other human rights concerns.
Human Rights Cities commit to human rights principles, develop goals to advance human rights, and monitor progress to achieve the goals.
