Oglethorpe Students Learn Human Rights Basics
Turn South offered a Human Rights 101 workshop for Oglethorpe University students on February 21, 2019.
Attendees learned about the international human rights framework, and the genesis and relevance of human rights in the U.S. Participants explored which human rights are protected in the U.S. constitution, where protections fall short and what human rights concerns exist today. Oglethorpe has a robust civic engagement program with students volunteering in local schools, food banks and nature preserves among other community activities.
